BROWNWOOD, TEXAS- After prevailing over the Hendrix College Warriors earlier this week, the Howard Payne University men's soccer team suffered a loss at home against the University of Texas at Tyler 3-0 Thursday afternoon.

The Howard Payne coaching staff allowed many Howard Payne players to see time that are normally not a part of the main rotation in this match before their first American Southwest Conference matchup in two days,

The Yellow Jackets were able to hold off the Patriots until their first goal at the 20-minute mark, with the second goal close to, follow just than two minutes later.

UT Tyler added another score at the 44 minute mark, ending the first half 3-0. The Yellow Jackets would buckle down in the second half holding the Patriots scoreless.

Yellow Jacket goal keeper Matt Prall ended the game with career high stats playing 90 minutes with 10 saves in the game. 

Howard Payne is now 1-2-0 on the season, while UT Tyler stands 4-1 overall. The Yellow Jackets will play at home this Saturday at 4:30 versus the University of the Ozarks following the woman's match at the Citizens National Bank Field.
