BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Tuesday evening in the first round of the 2019 American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament.
Despite being outshot 16-3 in shots on goal, the Lady Jackets battled to the end.
HPU's Delaney Caster recorded 13 saves playing all 90 minutes in goal. HPU's
Kara Moore had two shots on goal for HPU and
Mariah Gonzales followed with one on goal.
Mary Hardin-Baylor led 2-0 at the half with goals in the 28th and 44th minutes.
Howard Payne wraps up its season at 8-9-2 overall making its second trip to the ASC Championship Tournament for the second time in the past five years.
