SEGUIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team traveled to Texas Lutheran University this weekend for a non-conference match falling 8-1 to the Bulldogs.

HPU's Erin Blanchard and Erin McCleer gained the Lady Jackets only point by taking the number one double match 8-3. HPU would fall 8-3 in a competitive number two double match.

Playing a man down, the Lady Jackets would drop the number three and number six singles by default.

Blanchard was also very close to taking the number three single point falling 6-3, 7-5 and McCleer fell in the number one single match 6-2, 6-3. HPU lost the other singles points in straight sets.

HPU will play next on March 29th at home in its conference opener versus the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at 11:00 am.
