TYLER- The Howard Payne University softball team ended their series with the University of Tyler earlier this afternoon, losing both games of today's double header, game one 8-0 and game two 18-0.
Game One
Lady Jacket
Hannah Stuart recorded the loss for the Lady Jackets in th start allowing 11 hits, eight runs and earning two strike outs while throwing 98 pitches throughout the game.
The Patriots were able to bring in eight runs on 11 hits, this was a result from two home runs along with multiple singles.
The Lady Jackets were unable to bring a run in off of six hits in the game,
Alexis Sullivan and
Kayla Hill each were 2-for-3 at the plate.
Game Two
UT Tyler was able to get on the board early in game two, scoring seven runs on six hits in the bottom of the first inning.Â
Audrey Simpson was first on the mound for HPU, recording the loss while allowing six hits and seven runs in the first inning.
Gabrielle Roque relieved Simpson in the second, allowing 11 runs on 10 hits the rest of the way out.
The Lady Jackets finished the game with four hits and two errors, ending the game 0-18.
Aurora Luera led HPU going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Howard Payne is now 13-19 overall and 9-12 in American Southwest Conference play. UT Tyler is now 19-2 overall. The Lady Jackets will play at Lady Jacket Field this Thursday, April 18th in a double header against McMurry University starting at 12 P.M.
