BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Howard Payne University men's soccer team lost a hard-fought battle to East Texas Baptist University 2-1 this afternoon at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field.
East Texas Baptist struck first, scoring in the 41st minute, making the score 1-0 at the break.
Howard Payne tied the match in the 52nd minute when
Cristian Drake scored on an assist from
Yosmar Reyes.
The Tigers score in the 85th minute of the match to take back the lead. The Jackets were unable to answer, dropping the conference match 2-1.
Goal Keeper
Eduardo Flores played all 90 minutes, allowed two goals, and made three saves.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 3-11-1 overall and 1-7 in American Southwest Conference action. East Texas Baptist improves to 3-9-2 overall and 2-5-1 in conference play.
Howard Payne will take on LeTourneau University on Saturday, Oct. 23rd at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field starting at 3:30 pm.
