ABILENE, Texas- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fell to McMurry University in a penalty kick shootout in the quarterfinals on the American Southwest Conference tournament. The final score was 0-0.
The War Hawks out-shot the Lady Jackets 17-4. HPU had three shots on goal while MCM had five.
Howard Payne and McMurry played a competitive match with neither team scoring in 110 minutes of action, resulting in a penalty kick shootout.
The War Hawks won the shootout 4-1, with
Kendra Cecil scoring the lone PK for the Jackets.
Addison Beusing and
Caitlyn Hernandez had shots on goal for the Lady Jackets.
Delaney Castor played all 110 minutes for the Lady Jackets, allowed no goals, and made three saves.
The War Hawks advance to the semi-finals and will take on Hardin-Simmons.
The Lady Jackets end the season with an overall record of 11-5-2.
