Lady Jackets Fall In Double Overtime

SEGUIN, Texas- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fell to Texas Lutheran University 2-1 in double overtime on Friday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets outshot the Bulldogs 17 to 7.

The match was close all the way through and tied 0-0 after the first period. 

HPU held off TLU until the 57th minute to fall behind 1-0 but answered in the 77th minute to tie the match. Addison Buesing scored to put the Lady Jackets on the board.

The score was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. Neither team was able to score in the first ten minutes of overtime. However, Texas Lutheran scored in the 106th minute with less than four minutes to go in double overtime to claim the 2-1 victory.

The Lady Jackets will take on Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 11th, at 1:00 PM.
