BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne University's
Harold Myart led the Yellow Jackets with 15 points in a 68-65 loss to the University of Dallas Friday evening in non-conference action.
Harold Myart was a perfect 5 of 5 from the field, and 5 of 9 from the line for the Yellow Jackets.
Myles Brown followed with 10 points for HPU.
The Jackets struggled shooting from the field in the second half connecting on just 32.3% of their shots.
Down two post players due to foul trouble late in the second half, the Yellow Jackets would go on to be outrebounded 44-35 in the game.
With the game tied at 32-32 at the half, the Jackets built an eleven-point lead, 55-44 with 13 minutes left to play. From that point, UDallas chipped away at the lead gaining a one-point advantage, 62-61 with 4:38 left to play.
UDallas was led by Letrell Toussaint with 21 points and Jack Boyle with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Howard Payne is now 1-2 overall and UDallas stands at 1-2 on the year. The Yellow Jackets will play next on Tuesday at home versus Austin College at 6:00 pm.
