ALPINE, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team picked up its first conference win of the season 6-3 over the Sul Ross State University Lobos Thursday afternoon.

The HPU women took two out of three doubles points to start the day. HPU fell 6-8 in number one doubles and win the other two doubles points 8-4 and 8-2.

The Lady Jackets dropped the number two and three singles points but won the remaining matches in straight sets.

Howard Payne stands at 3-10 overall and 1-3 in American Southwest Conference action. The Lady Jackets will play next on Sat., April 23rd at home versus McMurry University at 2:00 pm.
