LONGVIEW, Texas --The Howard Payne University volleyball team lost Saturday as Letourneau posted a 3-1 (22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 20-25) win on the road at the Solheim Arena.
The loss dropped Howard Payne's record to 10-10 overall and 5-8 in ASC play.
The Lady Jackets were led by a double-double from Makenzie Weddel, who registered 11 kills and 14 digs on the day. Rylee McAlexander also added 10 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Kassidy Johnson chipped in for with 17 digs to go with three blocks from McAlexander.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Jackets found themselves in an early deficit, losing the first set 25-22. LeTourneau grabbed the advantage for good at 20-19 in a set that was knotted up seven times before Letourneau took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Howard Payne lost set two 25-19, digging a 2-0 deficit in the match. Howard Payne trailed by as many as six points as LeTourneau grabbed the advantage for good at 13-12 in a set that was tied up three times before they took over the lead.
SET 3 | Howard Payne fought back to pull within two sets to one, winning their first set of the match in the third stanza. The Lady Jackets won the set 25-20. Howard Payne took the lead for good at 9-8 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Lady Jackets took over the lead. The Howard Payne offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | Howard Payne couldn't build off the set-three victory and fell in set four 25-20 to drop the match. The Lady Jackets lost the first point and never clawed back into the lead before falling in the set.
The Lady Jackets will be back in action Tuesday, October 24th as they take on Sul Ross State at the Brownwood Coliseum with a start time of 6:00 PM
