BROWNWOOD, Texas -- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team earned a 2-1 win over East Texas Baptist Saturday (Oct. 28) at home at Citizens National Bank Field.
Howard Payne improved to 9-6-2 overall and 5-2-2 in ASC action following the win. Junior goalkeeper Emily Williamson recorded her 11th career win, sixth on the season. This moves her to fourth all-time in career wins for a goalie, passing Nicole Goodwin (10 wins).
How it Happened
Howard Payne opened the scoring when Briana Carter notched her first goal of the season in the 31st minute, assisted by Regan Noel.
The Lady Jackets tacked on another score on a goal from Kiana Chastain -- her fourth goal of the season -- in the 49th minute, assisted by Brenna Douthit.
East Texas Baptist got on the scoreboard to make it a 2-1 match on Sarah Ramos' 56th-minute goal, assisted by Makayla Baxter. The score capped the 2-1 game.

HPU will host East Texas Baptist in the ASC tournament quarterfinal match on Tuesday, October 31st at Citizens National Bank Field with kick-off at 7:00 PM. The Lady Jackets last qualified for the ASC tournament in 2021. This is the highest seeding HPU has earned in the women's program since joining the ASC.
