BROWNWOOD, Texas --The Howard Payne volleyball team could not overcome a dynamic Tigers offense Saturday at home losing to East Texas Baptist in three sets (17-25, 22-25, 22-25).
The loss dropped Howard Payne's record to 7-6 overall and 0-4 in ASC play.
Gracie Dixon finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Yellow Jackets offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .259. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Tara Bennett had 12 and Addison Roden had 10.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Yellow Jackets found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-17. Howard Payne trailed by as many as eight points as East Texas Baptist never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up just once before the Tigers took control.
SET 2 | Howard Payne then lost the second set 25-22 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Yellow Jackets trailed by as many as six points as East Texas Baptist grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 in a set that was tied up four times before the Tigers took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Howard Payne could not win set three and was swept by East Texas Baptist. A dominant defensive showing wasn't enough as the Yellow Jackets lost the set 25-22. Howard Payne tallied 10 blocks in the set loss.
The Lady Jackets face the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas next Tuesday at 6 P.M.
