Indian Creek Townhomes Featured Student-Athletes

The Indian Creek Townhomes is the proud sponsor of Howard Payne's Featured Student-Athlete which highlights HPU student-athletes weekly throughout the school year.  Each week during the school year one female and one male student-athlete are highlighted and will post videos to HPU sports' Instagram account @hpusports.

Ashley Pruiett 24-25

ASHLEY PRUIETT

She has been a member of the HPU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a student athletic trainer while at HPU. Ashley graduates in December of 2024.

2024: She played in 23 games for the Yellow Jackets recording four RBI on four hits. She was an Academic All-Conference selection as well.

2023: Pruiett appeared in one game for HPU and was an Academic All-Conference selection.

2022: Appearing in 12 games for the Lady Jackets, Pruiett totaled two hits, one run scored, one RBI, and one home run. On the defensive side, Pruiett notched eight putouts and two assists. She was an Academic All-Conference selection as well.

Previous: Ashley played one season of softball at Temple Junior College in Temple, Texas.

HS: Ashley played three years of varsity softball at Gateway College Prep in Georgetown, Texas. In her time there, she was First-Team All-District three times, All-State, team MVP two times, and District Defensive MVP. She also participated in volleyball and track.

Personal: Ashley is the daughter of Terry and Stefanie Pruiett and has two siblings. She is majoring in allied health science and aspires to be an athletic trainer.

KATE BUCHANAN

This year seeing more time for the Lady Jackets, she is a member of HPU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

2023-24: Played in six games for the Lady Jackets and was named Academic All-Conference.

HS: Kate played basketball at Community Christian School located in Mineral Wells, Texas where she was 2nd Team All-State and 3x 1st Team All-State. She helped lead her team to a state championship as well. Kate also competed in volleyball.

Personal: Kate is the daughter of Nathan and Kayla Buchanan and has three siblings.
