KERRVILLE, Texas – The Howard Payne University men's tennis team lost a close match 6-3 to Schreiner University on Saturday in Kerrville, Texas.
The Yellow Jackets started off strong winning two of the three doubles matches.
Nicolas Gates and
Caleb Lambert took the number one doubles 8-3 while
Christian Fernandez and
Sebastian Soria won the two slot 8-6. HPU could not hold on for the win in the number three spot losing 4-8.
Howard Payne lost five of the six singles matches with
Landon Ferree winning number five singles 6-3, 6-1.
Sebastian Soria took and
Michael Woodard took the number two and six slots to three sets, but could not bring home the win.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on February 22
nd as they take on Dallas Baptist University at the Nabers Tennis Center in Brownwood, Texas.
