BROWNWOOD, TX -- The Howard Payne Lady Jackets were not able to score a run against East Texas Baptist pitcher H. Benavides on Saturday and were shut out 8-0 by the Tigers.

Bree Cason (6-4) started and took the loss in the circle for Howard Payne (7-8, 0-3).

At the plate, the Lady Jackets were paced by Maddison Cason, who went 2-for-2 on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Howard Payne did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Lady Jackets went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the third, when Elise Munoz made it into scoring position with two outs.

GAME NOTES

» Howard Payne pitchers faced 30 East Texas Baptist hitters in the game, allowing three ground balls and 10 fly balls while striking out one.
» Maddison Cason led the Lady Jackets at the plate, going 2-for-2.
