BROWNWOOD, TX - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team fell 2-7 to the McMurry Warhawks on Friday at the Nabers Tennis Center.
HPU could not gain control of the lead after the doubles portion of the match, dropping all three matchups in straight sets.
Sebastian Soria and
Michael Woodard put up a great fight in number three doubles, but would ultimately lose 7-8.
Caleb Lambert set the tone starting off as he won the number three spot 6-3, 6-2.
Sebastian Soria would make it two consecutive wins as he took down McMurry's number two spot 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The Yellow Jackets could not maintain the momentum, losing the last three matchups in straight sets for a final score of 2-7 in favor of McMurry.
The Yellow Jackets will look towards their final regular season match of the season as they take on Austin College at 9:00 AM on Saturday in Brownwood, Texas.
