RICHARDSON, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball team was unable to score a run in either game, losing both 3-0 in Richardson, Texas on Friday versus Texas-Dallas.
GAME 1 | Texas-Dallas 3, Howard Payne 0
The Howard Payne Lady Jackets were not able to record a run against Texas-Dallas pitcher junior McKenzie Cutbirth on Friday and were shut out 3-0 by the Comets.
Junior Kayla Camacho (2-7) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (8-17, 1-12) and took the loss. The right-hander went six innings, giving up three runs, zero earned, on five hits, allowing five walks and striking out four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Howard Payne managed two chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position. The Lady Jackets last got a runner on third in the sixth, when sophomore Alli Harvey made it 60 feet away from scoring with one out.

Senior Bree Cason (6-11) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (8-18, 1-13) and took the loss. The right-hander went six innings, giving up three runs, one earned, on seven hits, allowing one walk and striking out four.
At the plate, the Lady Jackets were paced by junior Elise Munoz, who went 2-for-3 on the day.
