Howard Payne Battles to the Finish in Road Matchup

Jackets Display Depth, Energy in Strong Showing at University of Dallas

Howard Payne turned in a strong, competitive performance Sunday afternoon, finishing with 85 points and showcasing impressive balance across the lineup in a road matchup with The University of Dallas. The Yellow Jackets continued to display their offensive rhythm, finishing with 31 made field goals and nearly a 70% night at the free-throw line (18-of-23) while spreading production throughout the rotation.

The offense was led by Armonie Ramey, who delivered another steady all-around outing with 16 points and seven rebounds, providing energy on both ends of the floor. Jordan McClendon matched that scoring output with 16 points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers and attacking aggressively throughout his minutes.

Avant Coleman added a spark off the bench, finishing with 14 points, along with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. His activity on both ends helped keep the Jackets in control of large stretches of play. Ben Phillip was a steady presence in the backcourt, contributing 10 points and four assists while helping orchestrate the offense.

Howard Payne also showcased its depth, with 39 bench points, highlighting the team's growing chemistry and willingness to share the workload. The Jackets were especially effective in transition and inside, scoring 42 points in the paint and adding 16 fast-break points. Defensively, they remained active with seven steals and three blocks on the afternoon.

While the final score favored the home team, the performance reflected Howard Payne's continued growth, offensive firepower, and depth as the season progresses. The Jackets showed they can score in a variety of ways and will look to build on this effort moving forward.
