Howard Payne women's basketball put together a strong fourth-quarter surge in a 67–58 finish against Dallas, showing impressive resilience and energy down the stretch. After a competitive first three quarters, HPU exploded for 31 points in the final period, knocking down five three-pointers and playing with great pace on both ends of the floor. The Jackets also forced 21 turnovers while collecting 10 steals, showcasing their defensive pressure throughout the night.
Caitlyn Panuco led the way with a standout performance, pouring in 19 points while going 12-for-13 from the free throw line and adding three assists. Freshman Caitlyn Parsons was a force in the paint, finishing with a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds while also recording two blocks and two assists. Taylor McAfee added 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, and Azaylee Santos contributed seven points along with three steals and strong perimeter defense.
HPU showed great balance across the lineup, finishing with 30 points in the paint and 12 fast-break points, while shooting 81 percent from the free throw line. The late-game push and team effort highlighted the growth and competitiveness of this group as they continue to build momentum.
