IRVING, TX -- D. Sanchez (1-5) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (3-10) and took the loss. R. Castillo was a bright spot for the Yellow Jackets, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 4.1 innings, giving up three runs, one earned, on four hits, with three walks and one strikeout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Yellow Jackets were trailing 7-0 in the fourth inning when they first put runs on the board. C. Atchley came across to score the lone run of the inning for Howard Payne and get them on the board.
The Crusaders expanded their lead to 8-1 before the Yellow Jackets offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the seventh. The Howard Payne offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Atchley, which tightened the Crusaders lead to 8-5. The ballgame ended with that seventh inning rally falling short.

IRVING, TX --The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets put together a valiant effort on Tuesday, but ultimately came up short, falling to the Dallas Crusaders by the score of 5-3.
A. Aviles (0-4) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (3-11) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Yellow Jackets were trailing 3-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Howard Payne got an RBI single from A. Smith, scoring M. La from third base.
The Crusaders expanded their lead to 5-1 before the Yellow Jackets offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the seventh. Howard Payne managed to push across two runs in the inning, which brought the score to 5-3 in favor of the Crusaders. The ballgame ended with that seventh inning rally falling short.
