SAN ANTONIO, Texas --The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets struggled on Sunday, falling to the Trinity (TX) Tigers 10-2 despite the efforts of senior Elise Munoz, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Junior Destiny Sanchez (0-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Howard Payne (0-5).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 4-0, the Yellow Jackets first put runs on the board in the third inning. Howard Payne scored twice, with one run coming across on senior Jayden Falcon's single. The Yellow Jackets were unable to get any closer, as Trinity (TX) added six runs to their tally on the way to a 10-2 final.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas --The Trinity (TX) Tigers proved to be too much for Howard Payne on this particular day, as the Yellow Jackets fell 7-4 on Sunday.
Freshman Ava Aviles (0-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Howard Payne (0-6). Sophomore Alyssa was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 1.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit.
Offensively, the Yellow Jackets were paced by junior Ashley Blaylock, who went 2-for-3 on the day with two RBI. Junior Annie-Klein compiled a standout day at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Freshman M. De also contributed for Howard Payne, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Yellow Jackets got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Howard Payne scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Blaylock.
The Tigers then rallied to score five runs and take a 5-3 lead before the Yellow Jackets got back on the board in the fourth. Howard Payne scored once on an RBI single off the bat of De, which tightened the Tigers lead to 5-4. The Yellow Jackets were unable to get any closer, as Trinity (TX) added two runs to their tally on the way to a 7-4 final.
