MARSHALL, Texas --The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets were not able to score a run against East Texas Baptist pitcher M. Jones on Friday despite collecting six hits and were shut out 8-0 by the Tigers.
D. Sanchez (2-9) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (6-19, 0-5) and took the loss.
At the plate, the Yellow Jackets were led by E. Munoz, who went 2-for-3 on the day. M. La furnished a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 2-for-3. B. Allen-Bou also contributed for Howard Payne, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Howard Payne managed one chance with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position. The Yellow Jackets last got a runner on third in the fifth, when Munoz made it 60 feet away from scoring with nobody out.

Offensively, the Yellow Jackets were paced by M. Wesley, who went 1-for-2 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Howard Payne did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Yellow Jackets went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fourth, when H. Serna made it into scoring position with two outs.
