BROWNWOOD, Texas --The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets got three hits from A. Allgood in a 13-4 loss to the Texas-Dallas Comets Friday.
D. Sanchez (3-14) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (6-30) and took the loss.
In addition to her three hits, Allgood had two doubles and an RBI to lead the Yellow Jackets. M. Saenz put together a standout effort as well, going 1-for-3 with two RBI. E. Munoz also helped out for Howard Payne, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0, the Yellow Jackets first put runs on the board in the first inning. Saenz drove in two runs for Howard Payne with a single, that scored A. Salazar and Allgood.
The Comets then scored 11 runs to retake their advantage heading into the fourth inning, when the Yellow Jackets responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Howard Payne picked up two runs in the frame, the big hit being an RBI double from Allgood, which brought the score to 13-4 in favor of the Comets. The Yellow Jackets were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.

A. Aviles (2-12) started and took the loss in the circle for Howard Payne (6-31).
In the batter's box, the Yellow Jackets were paced by Saenz, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a double and an RBI. A. Salazar compiled a standout performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with an RBI. M. Garza also helped out for Howard Payne, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Yellow Jackets were trailing 3-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Howard Payne got an RBI single from Salazar, scoring Garza from second base.
The Comets expanded their lead to 8-1 before the Yellow Jackets offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the sixth. Howard Payne pushed across a run on Saenz's two-out RBI double, which brought the score to 8-2 in favor of the Comets. The Yellow Jackets were unable to get any closer, as Texas-Dallas added three runs to their tally on the way to an 11-2 final.
