Armonie Ramey delivered a standout all-around performance to lead Howard Payne, pouring in 39 points on 14-of-31 shooting while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Ramey also added eight rebounds and five steals, setting the tone offensively and keeping the Jackets within striking distance throughout the night.
Howard Payne received strong scoring support from multiple players. Trey Jackson finished with 14 points, knocking down seven of his nine free throw attempts in an efficient outing. Ben Phillip posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, providing a steady presence inside. Jackson Tomlin added 11 points, connecting on three three-pointers, while Jordan McClendon and Avant Coleman chipped in 10 points apiece to give the Jackets six players in double figures.
Offensively, Howard Payne shot nearly 47 percent from the field and maintained its rhythm for much of the game, answering runs and continuing to apply pressure on the scoreboard.
