Howard Payne picked up its second consecutive victory on Tuesday night, knocking off Austin College 52–46 in a hard-fought road win.
The Yellow Jackets set the tone early and stayed composed down the stretch, using balanced scoring and defensive pressure to secure the win. Howard Payne held Austin to just six points in the fourth quarter, creating separation late after a tight battle through three periods.
Caitlyn Panuco led the way offensively with a game-high 15 points, adding five assists and four steals in an all-around performance. Caitlyn Parsons followed with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Taylor McAfee chipped in 10 points to give Howard Payne three players in double figures. Kaley Nicholson added eight points to round out the scoring effort.
Howard Payne controlled key moments on both ends of the floor, forcing turnovers and converting at the free-throw line when it mattered most. The Yellow Jackets also won the rebounding battle, with Parson and Kate Buchanan combining for 17 boards.
With the win, Howard Payne improves to 8–10 on the season and carries momentum forward after back-to-back victories.
