Howard Payne dropped its ASC matchup to The Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls by a 6-1 final on Senior Day in Brownwood, but a few bright sparks still flickered through the lineup.

The top of the order carried the momentum for Howard Payne. In doubles play, Hannah Lightner and Victoria Ramos secured a 6-4 win at the No. 1 position, giving the Yellow Jackets an early push. That same duo-energy carried into singles, where Hannah Lightner delivered the team's lone point of the match with a strong straight-sets victory at No. 1 singles, winning 6-2, 7-6.

Victoria Ramos battled at No. 2 singles, staying competitive in both sets before falling 6-4, 6-4. Nina Delafuente and Kendra Werlein also faced tough matchups in the middle of the lineup, while Howard Payne was unable to field full lines at the bottom positions.

Despite the final score, the effort at the top of the lineup highlighted the fight from the Yellow Jackets in conference play, especially on a day dedicated to honoring the program's seniors.
