2015-2016: Started 24 of 25 games for the Jackets, averaging 4.7 ppg and 5.8 rpg. Bailey led the team in blocks with 30, good for seventh overall in the American Southwest Conference. He matched his career high, 12 points during a contest vs. Southwestern in November while also tallying four blocks and seven rebounds. J's rigorous work in the classroom garnered him 2016 ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team honors.

2014-2015: Started 19 of the 27 games played in for the Jackets. Averaging 6.4 ppg and 5.0 rpg, he had a season high 20 points versus Concordia Texas. He also grabbed a season high nine rebounds versus Sul Ross State. Was named to the ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team.

2013-14: Spent one season at the University of Arkansas before transferring to HPU. He did not play at Arkansas.

HS: A 2013 graduate of Gunter high school in Gunter, Texas, J was a multiple All-District and Academic All-District selection in basketball and football.  He led the basketball team to a Bi-District Championship in 2012. Was involved with FFA – served as Local President & District VI Secretary (2012-13), National Honor Society, President, Student Council Representative (3 years), Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Mr. GHS and National English Honor Society, Secretary.

Personal: He is the son of Brian and Kari Bailey and has one sibling. He is majoring in Pre-Law.
