Colby Ebrom came to Howard Payne from Lamesa high school in the spring of 2021. There, he served as the varsity boys’ basketball assistant in 2020-21, helping guide them to a 17-9 overall record and a 3-3A Bi-District Championship.
 
In 2016-2017, Ebrom served as a student assistant with the men’s basketball program at now NCAA D-I Tarleton State University. The program finished 22-8 that year with a 13-5 Lone Star Conference record and an appearance in the NCAA DII national tournament.

While at Tarleton State, Coach Ebrom also worked as a varsity assistant with the De Leon boys’ basketball team. In 2017-2018, he helped guide them to a 23-11 overall record and gaining an Area Championship and a Regional Quarterfinal title along the way.

Coach Ebrom graduated in 2019 with honors from Tarleton State University with a degree in Kinesiology. He is married to Abigail.
