Dalton Hutchins came to Howard Payne in May of 2015 from Brownwood high school where he served as the assistant tennis coach for the past three years. Before Brownwood high school, he was the HPU assistant coach under then head coach Sally Brown from 2008 to 2012.

Coach Hutchins help lead Brownwood as a team to Regionals in 2012 and 2013. He also guided players to qualify individually in 2012-2014 for Regionals and a player to a third place finish in the state tournament in 2014.

Graduating from Ouachita Baptist University in 2001 with a degree in Education, Coach Hutchins worked as an Assistant Teaching Pro at the Pine Forest Country Club in Houston, Texas during college.

Coach Hutchins completed his USPTA Elite Professional Tennis Teaching Certification in 2008.

Coach Hutchins wife, Dr. Kristen Hutchins, teaches in the Howard Payne Biology department. They both attend Coggin Ave. Baptist church in Brownwood with their kids Blake and Sydney.
