Adam Bright joined Howard Payne University in the summer of 2025 as a seasoned athletic administrator with more than two decades of experience across collegiate and high school athletics, bringing dynamic leadership and strategic vision to every role he serves. Previously the Associate Athletic Director for External Engagement & Marketing at Sam Houston State University, Bright led transformative efforts that increased ticket sales, modernized social media strategy, and enhanced fan experiences—contributing to record-breaking attendance and engagement.

Prior to joining SHSU, he served in leadership roles at the Colorado High School Activities Association, Durango High School, and Buena Vista High School, where he elevated athletic programs, oversaw multimillion-dollar facility upgrades, and championed student-athlete leadership initiatives. His career also includes collegiate coaching and administrative roles and experience in professional baseball at both the Major League and Minor League levels.

Known for his energy, character, and results-driven approach, he continues to be a leading voice in shaping the future of interscholastic and intercollegiate athletics. Bright holds a master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.

He and his wife, Jessica, a graduate of nearby Abilene Christian University, have a son who will be entering third grade in the fall and as a family have deep family roots in central and west Texas.
