BROWNWOOD, TX... The Lady Jackets volleyball team played great and defeated Schriener Univ. 3-0 on Friday before falling in three games to defending ASC champions Texas Lutheran on Saturday.

On Friday, HPU went to Kerrville to take on Schriener and defeated them 3-0, lead by strong hitting from Jr. MB Destiny Barry(Burnet HS), and So. OH Katie Preuss(Comfort HS). Barry lead players in hitting with 17 kills on 26 att. a .577 avg. Fr. S/OH Patricia Brown(Tomball HS) had 24 assists. Defensively, Fr. L Missy Dennis(San Antonio-Clemens) had 16 digs. It was HPU's first conference win of the season.

On Saturday, HPU was in Seguin to play Texas Lutheran. HPU dropped the match in three games. The Lady Jackets had a better kills avg. against TLU than they did against Schriener but still could not handle the solid hitting of TLU. So. OH Katie Preuss(Comfort HS) was the top hitter for HPU with 8 kills on 19 att., a .263 avg. Fr. L Missy Dennis had 14 digs.
