SHERMAN, TX…In strange turn of events, the Howard Payne baseball team split again with Austin College this afternoon dropping the first game 7-6 but exploding at the plate in the second game to win 17-0. Cole Ramsey (Academy, TX/Wayland Baptist) went 5-for-9 in with five RBIs and two runs scored on the day.

Josh Barnes (Arlington, TX/Tyler JC) went yard in the first game for his first home run this season. He finished with three runs scored on the day.

Doug Wren (Arlington, TX/Tyler JC) picked up the win for the Jackets in the second game throwing five scoreless innings allowing three hits and striking out one batter.

HPU will return home this weekend and open their American Southwest Conference West Division schedule against the defending ASC Champion McMurry Indians. Friday's game begins at 2:00 while Saturday's double header begins at 1:00 pm. Saturday's games are scheduled to be broadcast live on the web
