Jackets Lose 3rd Staight 25-21

ABILENE, TX - Two fumbles by the Yellow Jackets were the difference in the game as McMurry University won their homecoming game, 25-21, Saturday afternoon.

Turnovers haunt for the third game in a row as the Yellow Jacket fumble at the end of a long drive in the first half and the fumbled punt snap in the second were the difference makers in the game.

HPU's Fr. RB Jamal Organ (Brownwood) led in rushing with 85 yards on 12 carries. Fr. RB Stephen McKenzie (Paradise) also had 59 yards on 10 carries and 1 TD.

Sr. QB Adam Johnson 13 of 25 for 227 yards and 1 TD for the Jackets.

Sr. WR Chris Jackson (Dallas) led the HPU receiving crew with 5 catches for 104 yards.

Howard Payne will be back at home next week taking on the Cowboys of Hardin-Simmons at 1:00pm.
