BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne Yellow Jacket soccer teams played well versus the visiting Houston Baptist Huskies losing 4-0 in the women's game and playing a 0-0 tie in the men's game at Gordon Wood Stadium on Tuesday.
These matches were originally scheduled to be played on Monday but were rescheduled to Tuesday because of rain.
HPU Sr. GK Heather Parrish (Goldthwaite) recorded 9 saves but gave up four goals in the match. Earlier this season the Lady Jackets lost to Houston Baptist 10-0 in Houston. The ladies continue to improve every match.
HBU's Faulkner and Rogers split time in goal recording 2 and 3 saves respectively.
On the men's side, the Howard Payne men played outstanding defense but were unable to score themselves resulting in the 0-0 tie.
HPU's Fr. GK Malcom Framjee (Conroe) started in goal for the Jackets recording 2 saves and it was Fr. GK Reece Daniel (Abilene) in goal in the second with one saves. The HPU defenders were able to limit the Houston Baptist shots on goal to just 4 in the match.
The Yellow Jacket teams will play again at home on Friday versus Mississippi College at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
