HPU's Barry and Fish Thanked For Their Contribution To HPU Volleyball Program

BROWNWOOD, Texas - Howard Payne senior volleyball players Destiny Barry and Sandra Fish have given four years to the HPU volleyball program and were recognized on senior night on Friday.

Before the match with Hardin-Simmons on Friday night, seniors Destiny Barry (Burnet) and Sandra Fish (Burnet) were recognized for their committment to HPU volleyball. Both senior both being from Burnet HS in Burnet, Texas they have played together for a while.

"We have played together for nine years now, said senior Sandra Fish. "There is no one elso I would rather play with."

   

Senior - Sandra Fish  

Sandra is the daughter of Joel and Jennifer Fish of Corpus Christi, TX and a 2003 graduate of Burnet HS…While at Howard Payne she has been involved in Student Activities Council... On the volleyball court she has been named a 3-time Honorable Mention ASC All-West Division player in 2003, 2004, and 2005…She also received the 2005 Yellow Jacket Award for volleyball and team MVP…This season Sandra's stats have improved in almost every category posting career highs in kills(249), total attacks(844), and digs(250)…Fish will graduate with a degree in Education and plans to teach and coach.

Senior - Destiny Barry

Destiny is the daughter of Tamyra Taylor of Burnet, TX and a 2003 graduate of Burnet HS…On the volleyball court she has twice been named to the Honorable Mention ASC All-West Division Team (2004, 2005)…Destiny has led the Lady Jackets in blocks all four years at HPU and is third in ASC play this season in blocks with 1.05 per game…Destiny has had a great senior season recording career highs in kills(270), total attacks(693), and blocks(85)…She has also excelled in the classroom being named Academic All-Conference in 2005…She will graduate with a degree in psychology and plans on attending graduate school and becoming a counselor.
