The UMHB offense prove to be to strong in the second period as UMHB scored 5 un answered goals.
Sr. GK Heather Parrish (Goldthwaite) played the entire game in goal for Howard Payne recording 12 saves and giving up six goals.
In the men's game, UMHB scored first 27 minutes into the first period, but HPU's Fr. Joel King (Palestine) scored an unassisted goal just 9 minutes later to tie the game.
The HPU defense held strong but then gave up a goal with just three minutes remaining in the game.
Fr. GK Malcolm Framjee (Conroe) started in goal getting 4 saves and giving up one goal in the first period. Fr. GK Reece Daniel (Abilene) played in the second recording 6 saves and giving up one goal.
The women and men will play at home on Friday versus Texas Lutheran, women at 2:00 p.m. and men at 4:00 p.m.
