ABILENE, Texas - The Lady Jackets were unable to hold off the Hardin-Simmons rally in the third dropping the match 30-23, 30-22, 32-30, in American Southwest Conference action Friday night at the Mabee Complex.
HSU won the first two games, but Howard Payne led 29-26 in the third game. The Lady Jackets were unable to hold off the HSU rally dropping the game 32-30.
HPU's Jr. OH Katie Preuss (Comfort) led the Lady Jackets in kills with 10 on 21 attempts. Preuss also had 1 block solo and 4 assisted blocks in the match.
Lady Jacket setter Patricia Brown (Tomball) had 30 assists and 17 digs in the three game match.
Howard Payne fell to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in ASC action. HSU improved to 6-7 on the year and 4-1 in ASC play.
The Lady Jackets will play at home on Tuesday, October 3 versus Texas Lutheran at 7:00 pm.
