Yellow Jackets with one loss and one tie on the road

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The HPU soccer teams travel to San Angelo to take on two different opponents. The women loss to NCAA II national ranked San Angelo State 14-0 while the men tied Huston-Tillotson, 1-1.

Despite the score the Lady Jackets continue to show improvement. HPU Jr. Amanda Jenkins (Forney) started in goal and recorded 13 saves. Sr. Heather Parrish (Goldthwaite) played GK in the second and grabbed 9 saves.

The men's game was tight and scoreless at the half. Howard Payne got on the board first in the 66th minute when Fr. MF Blake Holly (Sulpher Springs) headed the Fr. MF Cory Vines (Greenville) pass.

Huston-Tillotson's Toscano scored in the 81st minute to tie the game. Regulation ended and the game went through two 10-minute overtimes with no one able to score.

HPU's Fr. GK Reece Daniel (Abilene) started in goal getting one save. Fr. GK Malcolm Framjee (Conroe) was in goal in the second and two overtimes recording 6 saves with one goal against.

The Yellow Jackets will play their first home game on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. against the College of the Southwest.
