BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Lady Jackets of Howard Payne extended their winning streak to 11 games, the most consecutive regular season wins in school history, with a 71-34 win over visiting Louisiana College Thursday in the Brownwood Coliseum.
HPU held Louisiana College to just 20.7% shooting and 14.8% from behind the arc in the game.
Howard Payne jumped out to an early lead and never looked back going into the halftime break with a 41-13 lead.
The Lady Jackets extended their lead to as much as 38 in the second half. HPU went on the win 71-34 posting their best start in school history.
HPU was led by Meia Daniels (Fort Worth) with a game-high 14 points on 3 of 7 shooting and 8 of 9 from the free-throw line. Stacey Blalock (Magnolia) also added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Kim Hoffman (Bloomington) had a game-high 9 rebounds.
Louisiana College was led by Carol Elder's 8 points and 7 rebounds.
HPU will be back in action on Saturday as they take on visiting Mississippi College at 1:00 pm.
