BROWNWOOD, Texas - Securing their fourth straight win of the season, the #1 ranked Howard Payne Lady Jackets handed a 58 point defeat to the University of Ozarks 88-24 in the Brownwood Coliseum. Head Coach Chris Kielsmeier received his 150th career coaching victory with the win.
Meia Daniels started the game off at a high pace for the Lady Jackets with a steal and layup, which was followed by an additional 14 points in the first half. Also contributing heavily to the first half jump was Stacey Blalock with 15. Following a 46-2 run, the women entered the locker room with a 48-6 lead.
In the second half, Olivia Fisher for the Lady Eagles contributed back to back baskets in order to add some points for Ozark's side. However, Howard Payne hardly let up, allowing their defense to force a total of 34 turnovers on the game. The execution of their motion offense led to scoring which broadened their lead even more.
Seniors Blalock and Daniels led the team in scoring with 20 points a piece, followed by Kim Hoffman with 9, and Katy Sarem with 8 respectively.
Scoring for the Lady Eagles was Fisher with 14 and Erica Eneks with 10.
The Lady Jackets, now 4-0, will take on their next opponent at home next Tuesday at 7:00 PM against Dallas Christian College.
