MARSHALL, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jackets used a 13-0 run to start the game rolling the Lady Tigers of East Texas Baptist University 87-43 in American Southwest Conference action on Saturday.
The Lady Jackets extended their lead and held a 48-19 halftime advantage. Kim Hoffman led all scorers in the first half with 13 points along with Howard Payne shooting 57% from the field as a team.
It was more of the same in the second as Howard Payne extended their lead to as much as 48 on their way to the 87-48 victory.
Meia Daniels led all scorers with 20 points and 5 steals. Kim Hoffman added 17 points and Stacey Blalock had 13 points and a game high 6 rebounds.
Dana Alexander was the only player to score in double digits for East Texas Baptist, she had 14 points. Armeka Brooks had 5 assists.
Howard Payne improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the ASC, while ETBU fell to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in ASC action.
Howard Payne will play next on Monday at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
