BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne Yellow Jacket baseball team was swept by Texas Lutheran University but the Jackets did not go without a fight almost taking game two of the three game series, 4-5, on Monday.

The Jackets were down 5-0 going into the bottom of the ninth inning. The HPU bats came alive and rallied to 5-4 with the winning run at the plate twice. The Jackets were unable to convert and fell 5-4 to TLU.

In game two on Monday, the Jackets took a 1-0 lead earlier, but from there it was all Texas Lutheran. TLU went on to win 12-2.

Howard Payne fell to 10-16 overall and to 4-8 in the ASC West. TLU improved to 23-4-1 overall.
