BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne baseball team had a solid performance from pitcher Justin Davies to post a 10-2 victory over the Sul Ross State Lobos at Don Shepard Park on Thursday.
Justin Davies pitched 8 innings giving up only 2 runs and striking-out 8 batters for Howard Payne.
HPU moved to 11-17, 5-8 in ASC action, while Sul Ross dropped to 5-25, 0-13 in ASC play.
HPU got most of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 5-0 lead.
The Jackets were led by right-fielder Ryan Kunz who was 3 of 4 and drove in 2 runs in the game. Center-fielder Adam Garcia also drove in 2 runs.
The Jackets will play Sul Ross State in a double-header tomorrow starting at 12:00.
