UMHB Need OT To Defeat HPU 0-1

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne men's soccer team took the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to the limit but fell in overtime 0-1 at HPU's Citizens National Bank Soccer Field on Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.

It was dedication day for HPU's new Citizens National Bank Soccer Field.

UMHB's Jeremy Whiteurst score in a open net after HPU goal keeper deflected a UMHB shot and Whiteurst followed in up with a goal. That game-winning goal came at 96th minute of the match in overtime.

HPU's Malcolm Framjee played in goal to entire contest and recorded 3 saves.

Matt Miller was in goal for UMHB and got 5 saves.

HPU will play again on Monday as they meet the College of the Southwest in Midland for a non-conference match-up.
