PINEVILLE, Louisiana – The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets offensive woes continue with a 7-39 lost to Louisiana College in American Southwest Conference action Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Field. 

The Yellow Jackets only managed 133 yards of total offense mainly due to 7 Louisiana College sacks from 102 yards lost. 

The Wildcats held a 17-0 halftime lead on a 60-yard TD pass from Derek Lewis to Marcus Preston, a 28-yard John Michiels field goal, and 12-yard TD pass from Lewis to Matt Albrecht. 

In the second half LC built a 0-31 lead before Howard Payne was able to score. Zach Hubbard ran it in from 1 yard out to cap a 4-play 63-yard drive with 10:33 left in the game. LC tacked on one more score before the end on the game to secure their 7-39 Homecoming win. 

HPU QB Zach Hubbard was 13 of 29 passing for 133 yards, 1 INT and was sacked 7 times. Marcus Ennis was the leading HPU rusher with 6 carries for 62 yards. Tre Mason lead the receivers with 4 catches for 77 yards. 

Kevin Reyna led all tacklers with 10 tackles and a pass breakup. Free safety B.K. Medlock had a great defensive game as well recording 9 tackles, 1 INT, and 4 pass breakups. 

The Jackets fall to 2-5 overall, 1-4 in ASC play, while LC improves to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in ASC action.
