HSU Ends HPU Playoff Hopes

ABILENE, Texas – The Yellow Jacket soccer team lost to Hardin-Simmons 0-2 and also lost their chance at American Southwest Conference postseason play Saturday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex. 

Howard Payne was outshot 5-25 in the match and had only 3 corner kicks to HSU's 12. HSU got their scores in the 51st and 79th minutes of the match by Martinez and Cody McGrath. 

Francisco Medina played all 90 minutes in goal for HPU recording 8 saves. 

HPU falls to 5-6-4 overall, and 4-6-2 in ASC action, while HSU improves 9-4-4 overall and 8-1-2 in ASC play. 

The Jackets will play at home on Tuesday in non-conference action versus the University of Dallas
