HPU Ties Up UT-Tyler

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets get a penalty kick score from Shane Cazad in the closing minutes of regulation to lead to a 1-1 tie in American Southwest Conference action Friday afternoon.

Most team stats were about even for both teams but UT-Tyler did commit 6 more fouls (15-9) than HPU in the game.

UT-Tyler scored first in the 25th minute on a header by Jake Urbaniak dirrectly from a T.J. Romaguera throw in.

HPU got their only score of the game on a penalty kick by Shane Cazad with 1 minute and 45 seconds left in regulation. Never team was able to score in overtime periods resulting in the 1-1 tie.

Howard Payne now stands at 3-2-2, 2-2-1 ASC, while UT-Tyler is at 4-2-2, 3-0-2 ASC on the season.

The Jackets will play at home on Saturday against Concordia University Texas at 3:00 pm.
