Lady Jackets Split on Day Two

SEGUIN, Texas – The Howard Payne volleyball team went 1-1 on day two of the American Southwest Conference Crossover tournament. 

The Lady Jackets opened the day with a (25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-10) win over Mary Hardin-Baylor. 

Howard Payne was led by Tamika Heline with18 kills. Megan Pick had 12 kills, while Sydney Bryant and Sarah Kocurek added 11 kills each. Patricia Brown and Amy Crouch had 29 and 21 assists respectively. Kristin Hammond had 20 digs. 

In game two of the day, the Lady Jackets fell to UT-Dallas (13-25, 26-28, 16-25). 

HPU was led by Tamika Heline with 8 kills. Sarah Kocurek also played solid with 7 kills. Brown and Crouch had 43 and 35 assists respectively. 

Howard Payne is now 11-8 overall and 4-6 in ASC play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Tuesday in Austin against Concordia University Texas.
