Jackets Finish Season With A Win

BELTON, Texas - The Howard Payne soccer team was down 0-1 at the half but rallied in the second period to defeat the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor 2-1 to close out the 2008 season.

A Dennis Benitez penalty kick goal in the 55th minute and a goal by Shane Cazad in the 85th minute gave the Jackets the 2-1 victory.

The Jackets were down early after giving up a goal in the 20th minute and wee down 0-1 at the break.

Francisco Medina played the first 40 minutes in goal and received a red card. Malcolm Framjee played the remaining 50 minutes.

The were a total of 7 yellow cards given out in the match.

The Jackets finish the season with a 6-7-4 overall record and 5-6-2 in ASC play.
