Lady Jackets Defeat LC 74-67

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jackets used a 21-3 run mid-way through the first half to boost them to a 74-67 win over the visiting Lady Wildcats of Louisiana College Saturday afternoon in the Brownwood Coliseum. 

Howard Payne shot 51% from the field and got 29 points from the bench in the game. 

There were 10 lead changes in the first 9 minutes of the game before Howard Payne took the lead for good. With 10:43 left in the first Mionca Hall hit a 3-pointer to give the Lady Jackets an 18-16 lead. 

Howard Payne continued their first half run stretching their lead to hold a 41-28 halftime advantage.
The Lady Jackets pushed their lead to 19 points early in the second before the Lady Wildcats rallied to within 9 with eight minutes to play. Howard Payne held on to secure the 74-67 win. 

Christy Pantallion came off the bench for LC to score a game-high 25 points. Tillisha Givens followed with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Taylor Henderson and Krystle Hunter added 12 and 10 points respectively. 

Katy Sarem led Howard Payne with 18 points followed by Hope Hohertz with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Tiffany Warner and Brittany Zamora added 8 points each. 

The Lady Jackets improved to 9-1 overall and 7-1 in ASC play, while LC fell to 5-3, 3-3 in ASC action. 

Howard Payne will play next on December, 29-30 at the University of Dallas Tournament.
